Summerville Wagyu wins 3 Awards at the 2026 Great Taste Awards
We were delighted to hear that we won three awards at the 2026 Great Taste Awards. We received a 1 Star Award for our 6oz Wagyu Burgers and Fillet Steak, as well as a 2 Star Award for our Wagyu Ribeye Steak. This was our first year to enter the awards so we were overjoyed to get this feedback from our home-farmed Wagyu on our first attempt.

Summerville Wagyu Ribeye Steak - 2 Stars
The reveal of this delicious-looking meat produced a collective 'ooh!' from the judges. It cuts perfectly and has a clear, mouthwateringly meaty aroma. In the mouth, there's an attractive grassy flavour, much moisture and a slight graininess of texture which most judges enjoyed. The fat is outstanding - creamy and powerfully flavoured.
A beautifully cooked and caramelised rib eye with a great nose, this is tender and flavoursome......the length gave a lovely, varied palate of notes.
A well-presented steak with visible marbling and a roasted beef aroma, this has soft succulent flesh that gives an enjoyable mouth feel with a satisfying chew. The flavour is rich with umami notes and a deep, natural beef flavour of this good quality steak which has been enhanced by maturity of life and good handling to ensure a fabulous classic beef flavour with excellent texture.
Summerville Wagyu Fillet Steak - 1 Star
We like the look of this with its bold caramelisation and sheen. It cuts really well, even against the grain. There's a good meaty aroma. A mature looking meat that has been cooked rare to medium rare, this has a deeply beefy flavour, and despite being seared the outer flesh remains tender. The meat is very flavoursome, juicy and extremely tasty even without any seasoning. Plump juicy looking fillet with an enticing caramelised beef aroma, this has soft, succulent, juicy flesh with a satisfying chew that gives a wonderful mouthfeel. This well-marbled steak releases a light but classic umami beef flavour of a good quality fillet steak from an animal which has been allowed to mature naturally.
Summerville Wagyu 6oz Burger - 1 Star
A lovely looking burger, well caramelised with a pleasing texture. There is a lovely, if gentle, flavour profile with a great mouthfeel and some pleasant length.
These inviting looking burgers are very juicy. They have a beefy flavour and pleasant aroma. We like the provenance of this and applaud the use of just the different cuts to give the texture and aged aroma and flavour. It is very juicy and has a slightly gamey flavour from the ageing. We would have liked a little judicious seasoning to enhance this even more, but it is a good, honest, very eatable burger.
